Jelena Sitar: The Ugly One Under the Stone and Other Fairy Tales

Jelena is a puppeteer: director, dramaturg, performer, educator and researcher. She is a lecturer in theatre and puppetry at the Faculty of Education in Koper. In addition to her work in Slovenian puppet theatres, together with Igor Cvetko, she has been working for two decades in Zapik Theatre, which cultivates chamber interactive and minimalist puppet theatre. He has been working with kamishibai since the very beginning of the development of this art form in Slovenia.
In the Block Theatre, wooden blocks guide the spectator’s imagination… Without words, they build different worlds, and the blocks in these worlds come to life. The performance opens up new perspectives on creativity, stimulates the imagination, while the work of art takes on new layers through the unique interpretation of each individual spectator.
The show is wordless, just animation set to music and is suitable for children from 3 years old.
PUF’s Thursday Morning Performance will be postponed to Wednesday, the 14th of August at 10:00 in the Puppet Shop at Kidričeva ulica 41 in Koper. A repeat performance will take place on the same day at 18:00, also at the Puppet Shop.
