Altroke Istria gourmet festival – Markovec

The last Altroke Gourmet Festival of the summer takes us to a beautiful spot above the city – Markovec. On Thursday, September 4, we’ll close the season with a culinary evening of great food, music and relaxed atmosphere overlooking Koper and the sea.

Markovec has an urban feel and is just steps from the city, so it’s the perfect place to end the summer. You’ll enjoy dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients by selected Istrian vendors.

The musical highlight of the evening will be the Koper-based band Zmelkoow, known for their humor, clever lyrics and energetic performances. Who doesn’t know Zmelkoow? They’re the perfect soundtrack to make summer last a little bit longer.

Culinary Offer

You will enjoy carefully prepared dishes made with fresh local ingredients, offered by selected Istrian hosts:

• Restaurant Brič – fried calamari, sardines in saor, and pljukanci pasta with seafood.
• Brinavkuhni – bao buns with shrimp and mussels in coconut milk with coriander and chili (following Gordon Ramsay’s recipe).
• Gostilna Oljka Vanganel – pork tenderloin wrapped in dough.
• Gostilnica Gušt – burger and pizzas with prosciutto, mortadella, and buffalo mozzarella.
• Gorki Chili & Chillicus – Neapolitan pizzas made with local ingredients and a tasting of spicy sauces.
• Salicornia – seared tuna with raspberries, pickled radish, and sesame, plus fregola pasta with cuttlefish, stracciatella, and roasted hazelnuts.
• Altrokè – homemade tortellini following grandma Lidija’s recipe, Altroke burger, piadina with porchetta, and mussels in buzara sauce.
• Grondali Abitanti Farm – panini with prosciutto and truffles, cod (bakala), and Istrian truffle products.
• B2 Konzulat – fuži pasta with truffles and Istrian-style sandwiches.
• Frfitula Koki – Istrian fritters.
• Tourist Association Sparzin Korte – homemade Istrian fritters and hroštole.

To complete the experience, there will also be a rich drinks offer:

• fine wines from Posestvo Brič, Bordon, Društvo Vinol, Santomas, Ekološka kmetija Franca, and Vina Kralj & Krmac,
• refreshing cocktails from Gineral Slovenija and Malner cider,
• beers from Biradiski and Pivovarna Naboj.
