
Festival Šelestenja 2025
The sixth edition of the Šelestenja Festival, which will begin on October 9 and conclude on December 17, once again offers a high-quality and genre-diverse musical selection, where music enthusiasts will undoubtedly find something to their liking. This year, it combines three special musical stories: the authentic Istrian creativity of Rudi Bučar, the contemporary and dramatic expressiveness of Ana Sokolović's opera, and the virtuoso interpretation of Alexander Gadjiev. The program highlights local creativity while opening the door to international artistic trends.
Thursday, October 9, at 7 p.m.: Rudi Bučar
Presentation of the album Kamen trn brin (Stone Thorn Juniper)
On Wednesday, October 9, at 7 p.m., Istrian troubadour Rudi Bučar will premiere his new album Kamen trn brin (Stone Thorn Juniper) at the Koper Music School in Slovenian Istria. He will be joined on stage by top musicians: Goran Krmac (tuba), Anže Vrabec (piano, keyboards), Gašper Kržmanc (guitar), and Jure Rozman (drums, percussion). The concert will be part of Radio Live, organized by Radio Koper.

Wednesday, November 19, at 7 p.m.: Wedding, chamber opera
Location: St. Francis Hall
This chamber opera for six female voices and percussion, performed by the singers themselves, is the work of a Serbian composer with an international career in Canada. The story takes place on the evening before a young woman's wedding, in the company of her friends. Since its premiere in Toronto in 2011, the opera has thrilled audiences on numerous stages around the world, receiving excellent reviews and awards and captivating audiences with its colorful soundscapes and ethnic rhythms.

Wednesday, December 17, at 7 p.m.: Alexander Gadjiev, piano solo concert
Location: St. Francis Hall
Internationally renowned pianist Alexander Gadjiev, winner of prestigious competitions and an exceptional performer with profound artistic expression, is coming to Koper with a program that combines lyricism and virtuosity. At the December concert, he will take the audience from Schubert's poetic Impromptus D935 and Chopin's dramatic Ballade No. 4 to the more expressive Russian repertoire – Tchaikovsky's lyrical Dumka, Prokofiev's evocative Legends, Op. 12/6, and Prokofiev's powerful Sonata No. 7, one of the most demanding works of the 20th century.
The evening promises an exceptional musical experience with one of the most highly regarded pianists of the younger generation.
