FLOWERS IN THE CITY: KOPER WILL BLOOM WITH THE COLORS AND SCENTS OF SPRING

On Friday, May 22, the heart of Koper will come alive with flowers, creativity, and the pleasant buzz of city life. The "Flowers in the City" event, taking place between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. along Čevljarska and Župančičeva Streets, will feature floral creations and invite visitors to enjoy a pleasant gathering and the city center.

FLORAL DISPLAYS AND LOCAL PRODUCTS
Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of flowers, plants, and nature-related products.

The event will also be complemented by businesses in the city center, which will help spread the festive atmosphere throughout the city with themed displays in their shops.

The street also offers a lively selection of food and drink from nearby establishments, which will ensure that, in addition to the pleasant atmosphere, your taste buds are treated to a selection of beverages, desserts, and local snacks.

CREATING WITH FRESH FLOWERS

A key part of the event will be a live demonstration led by florist Simon Ogrizek. Throughout the day, he will be creating floral arrangements at his booth using lavender, Karst flora, and roses, showcasing the art of floral design.

Join us at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for two interactive workshops, where you’ll have the chance to create your own floral arrangements under expert guidance and get an up-close look at the art of floral design.

BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINER AND CREATE SOMETHING UNIQUE
The workshops will be designed to encourage active participation from visitors. They are welcome to bring along vintage containers—from cups and teapots to plates or glasses—in which they will create unique floral arrangements.

Flowers in the City is not just an event, but an experience that brings together the city center, local vendors, and visitors. A stroll among the flower stalls and creative corners offers the perfect respite, inspiration, and an opportunity to enjoy the spring atmosphere.

Since Monday, May 4, 2026, the exhibition “May – The Month of Roses: A Presentation of Historic Roses,” organized by the Slovenian Rose Society in collaboration with the Volčji Potok Arboretum, has been on display at the Mala Loža in Koper. The exhibition will be on display until May 25, 2026.
