Jaka Ivančič’s Photo Exhibition on the Bell Tower
The bell tower of Koper’s cathedral will transform into a unique open-air gallery, where visitors can experience the city in two dimensions – through the artistic lens of a photographer and through a real, breathtaking panoramic view.
The exhibition Views of Slovenia by acclaimed photographer Jaka Ivančič will officially open on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at 6:00 PM with a special event at the Pretorian Palace. The opening will feature a discussion with both authors of the book Slovenia, the Land of Contrasts – photographer Jaka Ivančič and biologist and writer Davorin Tome. They will share insights into their creative process, their perspective on space and light, and the inspirations that come together in their visual and literary narrative.
Following the discussion, visitors will be guided to the exhibition in the bell tower. As they ascend the tower, they’ll encounter nine carefully selected photographs, highlighted by an atmospheric lighting installation. Every photo captures Koper and its countryside in a special and memorable way.
Free admission on opening day.
After that: two experiences with one ticket – the exhibition and the view, for only €5.
This unique exhibition is presented in collaboration with Mladinska knjiga and the Public Institute for Youth, Culture and Tourism Koper.
