Exhibition “Cultural Pulse”

From May 15 to June 15, 2026, the Festival of Amateur Culture takes place, promoting greater accessibility and mobility of cultural goods. This nationwide initiative is dedicated to supporting creators and promoting amateur culture throughout Slovenia and among Slovene communities abroad. The project is modeled after similar initiatives in other European countries, which each year highlight the importance, quality, and widespread participation in amateur artistic creation.

With this exhibition, we draw attention to more than 107,000 cultural creators who voluntarily devote their energy and time to culture. Amateur culture in Slovenia is widespread, diverse, and of exceptionally high quality. Its rich tradition dates back to the mid-19th century, when organized amateur culture was the driving force of Slovenian culture as a whole. Today, it represents a well-organized movement of creative potential, professionally supported by the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities.
