"The women's newspaper Slovenka, which was published in Trieste 120 years ago, immediately challenged the conservative and clerical views of women prevailing in the Slovene space at the time, with its articles by Slovene women writers and pioneers of feminism in Slovenia, its reports on the successes of the developed women's movement abroad and, above all, with its appeals to women to fight for the right to public expression, the right to education and the right to work independently."
