Themed walks along the Santoria trail Santoria
This year, the Municipality of Koper has dedicated the year to Santorio Santorio, one of the most prominent citizens of Koper in the early modern period. To mark the occasion, themed walks through the city will be organized in Koper, tracing his life and work.
Santorio Santorio was a physician, scientist, and inventor, known for developing early forms of the thermometer and pioneering research into the measurement of bodily processes, laying the foundations for modern physiology. The walks in his footsteps will lead from the Koper Library past the cathedral and armory, along Kidričeva Street (Via Santorio) to Santorio Street, enriched with stories, anecdotes, and highlights of the cultural heritage of Koper's streets.
The walks will be led by Peter Štoka and Tedej Sušelj (Department of Local History, Koper Library).
