FROM THE CELLAR TO THE KITCHEN – A JOURNEY THROUGH THE TYPICAL DISHES AND WINES OF SLOVENIAN ISTRIA
Enjoy a stunning view of the Bay of Koper, the Italian coastline, and the distant Alps — a perfect escape to relax and recharge your senses.

Between Vanganel and the better-known Marezige, in the heart of the Land of Refošk, about 8 km from Koper, lies the charming village of Montinjan. Surrounded by the vibrant colors of blooming flowers and the autumn magic of grape and olive harvests, the Lukač Tourist Farm is a genuine ambassador of Slovenian Istrian heritage. Here, a lively team of family members and friends will welcome you warmly and ensure you enjoy the delights of Slovenian Istria in a peaceful setting. The farm combines integrated viticulture and olive growing in perfect harmony.
ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

By prior arrangement, you’ll be treated to a delicious meal personally prepared by Selma Lukač — the second Slovenian Wine Queen. Whether you’re visiting solo or with a group, you can enjoy authentic Istrian cuisine and special dishes made from cherished family recipes. Expect freshly baked bread and pastries, pickled vegetables like eggplant and beets, prosciutto seared in wine sauce, delicate homemade dumplings filled with local cottage cheese, handmade pasta with Refošk, fresh daily gnocchi with various stews, traditional Istrian minestrone bobiči with sweet corn, seasonal vegetables, and much more.
Menus can be adapted for vegetarians, vegans, and guests with special dietary needs.
Refreshments include homemade elderflower and mint syrups, a unique and flavorful Refošk grape juice, and house-made spirits such as grape brandy (tropinovec), Refošk liqueur, and more. For wine lovers, there’s no shortage of choices — from Refosco and Malvasia to Yellow Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, and rosé — depending on the year’s harvest.
Wine cellar tastings are also available, where guests can sample the farm’s wines, olive oil, and homemade drinks. You’ll also find gifts and local specialties from the Refošk Boutique, a unique line of products made with Refošk grapes or wine: liqueurs, brandy, vinegar, pasta, and more — perfect for souvenirs or thoughtful gifts.
Visit in May to join the Festival of Refošk, celebrate summer with the village feast under the oak tree in August, or experience authentic local traditions during St. Martin’s Day festivities in November.
