Charity nativity scene in Škofije
This year the nativity scene celebrates 800 years. The first one was built in 1223, in a cave near Greccio, Italy, by St Francis of Assisi. This year, a very special nativity scene is being set up in Škofije, as the proceeds from voluntary contributions will be donated to charity.
The inauguration of the completely handmade nativity scene, created with great patience and love by a group of local women, will take place on Wednesday, 20 December 2023, at 17.00 in the Škofije parish church. It will be on display until February next year. Voluntary donations will be collected and donated to the Palčica Pomagalčica Association, for children in need.
