The Vilenica International Literary Festival is a meeting of poets, writers, playwrights and essayists from Central Europe, organised by the Slovenian Writers’ Association in the Karst region and elsewhere in Slovenia. Read more about the festival.
On Monday, the 4th of September, Vilenica will be held in Koper. At the event, which will take place in the Atrium of the Regional Radio and Television Centre Koper/Capodistria (in case of rain in Studio 3) at 8 pm, Irena Urbič will talk to the author at the heart of this year’s Vilenica, Barbara Korun.
Barbara Korun
Poet, writer, and essayist Barbara Korun was born on 23 May 1963 in Ljubljana. She graduated from the University of Ljubljana with a degree in Slovenian and Comparative Literature. For almost twenty years she worked as a teacher at Ljubljana high schools, then she worked in public relations at the Slovene national theatre Nova Gorica, for a few years she worked as a language editor and dramaturge at the Slovene national theatre Drama Ljubljana, and now she is self-employed in the realm of culture.
