We invite you to the opening of a temporary exhibition
Invisible Women of Istria: ISTRIAN WOMEN, TRAVELING SALES WOMEN, SAURINIAN WOMEN on Friday the 1st of December 2023 at 12.00 in the Museum Gallery of the Koper Regional Museum (Boris Kidrič Street 23a, Koper).

The exhibition is a collaboration with the Maritime Museum “Sergej Mašera” Piran and the Ethnographic Museum of Istria.

The exhibition is made possible by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the Municipality of Koper, the Municipality of Ankaran.
The exhibition will be on display until the 10th of February 2024.
The temporary exhibition presents the secondary acquisition roles of women from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, who in this way increased family income and ensured thrifty consumption.
Women’s trade was very lively at the end of the 19th century and between the two world wars, whereas trade between Trieste and the hinterland had been flourishing since the Middle Ages.
