Svetilnik is a cultural periodical for schoolchildren. A joint project of several cultural institutions, it is a free pubblication that presents the cultural content of the three slovene coastal cities and the hinterland to schoolchildren through short articles, puzzles, quizzes, colouring pages and other fun activities.

As part of the celebrations of the 1500th anniversary of Koper, a new edition of Svetilnik has been published to introduce young enthusiasts to the  history of Koper. They can learn about the mythological story of the city’s origins, its important personalities and its patron saint, as well as the Statute as the most important document of the city. They can solve a quiz on Koper through time; they can discover the treasures of the museum; they can read about the theatre play Lepo je biti Koprčan (It’s Nice to be a Capodistrian), in which two young girls compete in a quiz on their knowledge about Koper. They can get to know the departments of the Srečko Vilhar Central Library, enter the world of creative video observations of the city and learn about the historical importance of the richness of Koper’s vineyards. Finally, they can play a game of dice and test their knowledge.
