It was intended for citizens’ debates, which were then considered by the city council. The building is decorated by the statue of the Virgin Mary with child, which was erected in memory of the devastating plague of 1554.
In the middle of the 19th century, a café, which is known as the oldest in Slovenia, opened its doors on the ground floor.
