The Vanganel Lake is an artificial lake, created during the containment of Bavški potok in order to protect the area from floods.
The stream of Morigla flows into the lake. In the summer, the stream dries up; when it is filled with water, it creates a waterfall.
Next to the lake, you’ll be able to enjoy the calm environment and relax watching the water and the forest with various trees that are especially interesting in autumn.
The hiking trail called the “Heart Trail ” is routed around the lake (https://map.slovenska-istra.si/#tours?type=pespoti&tour=pot-za-srce-in-ozilje).
