This year’s march will be organised along the route called “TOMŠIČEVA POT” (The Tomšič trail), after the writer, the now deceased Marjan Tomšič. For many years he worked as a teacher at the primary school in Gračišče, lived in the village and wrote extensively about the customs and habits of the people who lived in Istria.
The route will go from Gračišče via Brgad to St. Kvirik, where the writer is buried, and back to Gračišče. In front of the hall in Gračišče there will be a registration and assembly of hikers from 8:30 to 9:00, where everyone will be given tea, coffee or water and something sweet to ease the way. A registration fee of € 7,00 (which includes the guided hike, a drink at the stop and lunch on the return) will be payable at the time of registration.
All hikers should be aware that they are hiking at their own risk. Suitable footwear and drinks are required, walking sticks are optional.
At 9:00 departure from the hall in Gračišče. The walk will take about 4 hours with a stop of about 30 minutes at St. Kvirik , where there will be a short “In Memoriam” at the cemetery for the late writer Tomšič. Then the return to Gračišče. At around 14:00 all walkers should gather again in front of the hall, where there will be a lunch for all participants. There will also be a little surprise!

The hike is easy, suitable footwear and some drinks are essential, in case of bad weather the hike will be cancelled.

Nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts and those in good spirits are invited to the “Šparinga Festival” and the ” Asparagus Hike” in Gračišče.
Keep an eye on the Tourist, Sports and Cultural Association Saint Nicholas of Gračišče website, where you will be kept informed if there are any changes regarding the hike (bad weather).
