Zeliščarka is a performance, a first-person narrative, a set of poems by Svetlana Makarovič, co-performed by the intermedia artist, vocalist and composer Aphra Tesla. The exchange between Svetlana’s poetry and Aphra’s work Psalmi: Tod mit Vorteil (Psalms: Death with benefit), with an admixture of Slavic and Balkan folk songs, thematises existential and amorous confessions set in the role of the archetypal figure of the woman, who, as the central motif of the performance, is the bearer of knowledge and sanctification. After the performance there will be a short talk with Svetlana Makarovič and a book signing.
Co-organised by the Koper Friends of Music Association, the Central Library of Srečko Vilhar Koper, the Koper Regional Museum and Eventim. Media sponsor of the festival is Radio Koper.
