The entrance to the cave is wide and oval-shaped. The ceiling of the cave is made of limestone, while the walls are of marl and sandstone. In the central part, the galleries of the cave are wide and tall; before that, they hardly ever reach an average height of half a meter.
The water leaves the cave to join the constant source called “Črni zvroček”. This is not a tourist cave.
Poljanska buža is a place with a high natural value of national importance.
