The palace is connected to the Romanesque Patriarch’s Tower from the 13th century and to the Rotunda of John the Baptist (currently called the Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel).
The Del Bello family was an old and reputable noble family thought to have originated from Vicenza, from where it then moved to Koper.
Today, the building houses apartments.
