In the 1760s, it was bought by the Tarsia family that redecorated it in the Baroque style. The building was finally renovated at the end of the 20th century.

The eagle with outstretched wings above the balcony is a vestige of the tombstone of general Jacopo Tarsi who is responsible for the nobility title of the family.

Members of the Tarsi family were generals, diplomats, captains, and interpreters; one of its most famous members is the musician and composer Antonio Tarsia.

Today, the palace houses the headquarters of the “Primorske novice” newspaper.
