The village of Boršt provides outstanding views, such as the view over the valley of the Starec Stream on one side, and over Koper, Trieste, and by nice weather over the whole Gulf of Trieste, on the other side.

In Boršt, St Nazarius was born around the year of 470, the patron saint of Koper and the first bishop of Koper. A chapel is dedicated to him, where on his name day (19th of June) various festivities take place. In the village, there is also a Church of St Roch and Sebastian from the 13th century.

During the Second World War, the command of the city of Koper operated in the surroundings of the village. Each year on the Slovenian cultural day, 8th of February, the march to “Frenkov bunker” is being organized.

On 30 January 1945, an American pilot landed here from a falling aircraft with a parachute, and was hidden and helped here by the locals – the Monument to the landing of the American parachutist from 1997 is dedicated to this event.
