J.V. Valvasor mentioned the cave in his writings. Furthermore, the cave has also been declared a place with a high natural value of national importance.

A particular feature of this cave is the only underground church in Slovenia, nestled in its entrance.

The cave is also related to the legend of Saint Servolo who, after converting to Christianity, is said to have hidden here from the governor of Trieste.

You can visit the cave every Sunday at 2 p.m.
